PROJECT
In 2017 IRIS delivered a RESTful API for the National Library of Medicine (NLM) that provides users access to the current value sets and supported code systems (LOINC, SNOMED-CT, RX Norm, etc) in the Value Set Authority Center (VSAC). This project supported the initial FY17 VSAC expansion of the value set operations described in the FHIR® documentation through expansion, validation, and lookup capabilities of code sets.
FHA supports the expansion of VSAC’s capacity to accommodate the value sets in consolidated clinical document architecture (C-CDA) and fast healthcare interoperability resources (FHIR®) allowing Federal agencies using these standards to interoperate with greater precision and consistency.
